How to get to our kite spot?

We are located in the northern part of El Gouna at the beach club Makani. The location is approximately 10 minutes away from most of the hotels in the area. If you're staying at certain hotels, the daily shuttle bus service to the kite spot is included in your package. This means you can simply check with your hotel to see if the shuttle bus service is part of your booking. If it is, you'll be able to take advantage of this hassle-free transportation option to access the kite spot. If you're not eligible for the shuttle service through your hotel, there are also other transportation options available, such as Tuk-Tuk, and taxi services to ensure you can easily reach the kite spot and enjoy your kiteboarding experience.

Our transfer plus accommodation vacation package is designed to provide you with a seamless and hassle-free travel experience. This full package includes not only your accommodations but also airport transportation. Additionally, our package takes into account the specific needs of our guests, offering a comprehensive solution that covers both lodging and transportation.

Things to bring

When preparing for your kitesurfing course, there are a few essential items you should bring to ensure a comfortable and productive experience.

Here's a list of recommended items:

• UV sunblock (water resistance) 

• Swimwear, lycra, surf shorts, rashguard  (summer time) or shorty/ long wetsuit (winter time) 

• Towel

• Sunglasses

• Positive attitude: Most importantly, bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and have fun! :) 

Wind conditions & season

El Gouna offers fantastic kitesurfing conditions throughout much of the year, making it an ideal destination for kitesurfing enthusiasts. The best season for kitesurfing in El Gouna typically spans from late March to early November, with the most consistent wind conditions occurring during the spring and summer months. During this period, you can expect steady northerly winds, known as the "Meltemi," which provide excellent riding conditions.

The average wind speed in El Gouna ranges from 16 to 25 knots during the peak season, offering ideal conditions for both beginners and experienced riders. The water temperature remains warm, typically ranging from 22°C to 28°C. For those seeking optimal kitesurfing experiences, it's recommended to plan your visit during the windier months, particularly from June to September, to take full advantage of the consistent wind patterns and favourable weather conditions.

Weather

El Gouna, generally experiences a desert climate, characterised by hot and dry weather for the majority of the year.

What you can expect throughout the year:

1. Winter (December to February):  
• During the winter months, daytime temperatures typically range from 18°C to 23°C, offering pleasant and mild weather.  
• Nights can be cooler, with temperatures averaging around 8°C to 20°C.  
• Rain is infrequent, and the region enjoys clear skies and sunny days.

2. Spring (March to May):  
• Spring brings a gradual increase in temperature, with daytime highs ranging from 24°C to 30°C.  
• Nights become milder, with temperatures ranging from 14°C to 25°C.  

3. Summer (June to August):  
• Summer is hot, with daytime temperatures often exceeding 35°C.  
• Nighttime temperatures tend to hover between 22°C and 27°C.  
• Weather is beautiful with clear sky.

4. Autumn (September to November):  
• Autumn sees a gradual decrease in temperatures, with daytime highs averaging between 28°C and 33°C.  
• Nightime temperatures range from 18°C to 23°C.  
• Weather remains relatively warm and sunny.

El Gouna is a perfect destination with warm temperatures and great windy statistics throw all year around.

Kite Safari

2. Itinerary and Stops:  
• Kitesafari itineraries takes 8-days / 7-nights and include visits to multiple kitesurfing spots to explore diverse locations and take advantage of various wind and water conditions.

3. Accommodation:  
• What to say more about accommodation... Living on the 35m yacht that offers deluxe cabins with en-suite bathrooms, few decks with chill-out area, your own private chef with full-board menu. No more to add! :) 

4. Kitesurfing Experience Level:  
• Kitesafaris cater to kitesurfers of varying skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders. Our IKO instructors are onboard ready to pimp your skill!

5. Equipment and Gear:  
• You are most welcome to bring your own gear, or rent the equipment, including kites, boards, harnesses, and wetsuits.

We recommend to bring:
• At least two kite sizes and if possible even a third size as the winds can change.
• At least one kite board (we recommend a twin-tip, but also a surfboard or hydrofoil is a good choice)
• Wetsuit (shorty in summer and 5/4mm steamer in winter for early sunrise sessions).

6. Safety and Guided Support:  
• Our kite safaris are led by experienced guides and instructors who are familiar with the local conditions and can provide valuable guidance on kitesurfing techniques, safety protocols, and navigating the diverse kitesurfing spots.

7. Booking and Availability:  
• You should always book in advance to secure your spot, especially during the peak season.
